hello arrow about me
A bit about me

I'll never get over my delight at making a living from something I enjoy. I fervently believe the worst, most stressful day as a writer is still better than the best day in most other jobs (though if you've got a vacancy for a chocolate tester, I'm all ears).

Before going freelance, I was a section editor for DVD Monthly and entertainment reporter for BT Vision. I also once accidentally became a videogames writer for six months.

Career highlights to date include being in the Guardian's best of 2007 supplement alongside people like Charlie Brooker and Nancy Banks-Smith, for a piece about Facebook of all things. Oh, and being hugged by Johnny Depp.

But enough of the professional stuff. Here's a side-helping of (even more) useless facts about yours truly:

- I'm a rusty pianist and not-quite-so-rusty guitarist
- I spend far more time doing Sudoku than I am willing to admit
- I'm half right-handed and half left-handed
- I'm addicted to glossy magazines (it's research, honest)
- I've probably seen Empire Records more times than everyone else on the planet combined
- If I went on Mastermind I'd choose Spaced as my specialist subject
- The sound of polystyrene squeaking is my least favourite thing ever
